What are Skin Boosters?
Skin Boosters are a contemporary, top-of-the-line treatment designed to take skin hydration and nourishment on to the next level. The treatment uses micro-injections of a soft gel-like substance whose key component is hyaluronic acid (HA). As many of you know, hyaluronic acid is a substance that the human body naturally produces. It retains water to keep skin tissues lubricated and moist. To many dermatologists and skincare makers, HA is a key regimen for reducing fine lines while making skin appear younger and dewier.
As aging begins, our bodies produce less and less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, resulting in dry, rough-looking skin. Skin Boosters act as a large reservoir, replenishing moisture as well as stimulating the body’s fibroblasts.
Generally, there are two types of Skin Boosters, biorevitalization, like Restalyne Skinbooster which contains pure HA, and mesotherapy, like TEYOSAL Redensity that contains HA together with bundles of vitamins, minerals, plant extracts and amino acids.
Biorevitalization product is gooier like than the mesotherapy product, so it also does a subtle filling. We are one of the few Vancouver medical aesthetic clinics that offer Restalyne Skinboosters.
How do Skin Boosters work?
Skin Boosters are like topical moisturizers that can be used at a cellular level. The treatment uses a very thin filler that is dispersed across the target area with a micro needle, injection gun or cannula. By injecting hyaluronic acid (optionally with antioxidants and other nutritious ingredients) to the skin, the treatment bypasses the outer barrier and is delivered directly to the dermis, or the skin’s middle layer. Once injected, the HA molecule starts to re-absorb water and hydrate the skin from the inside out. At the same time, it sends signals to the cells which then are stimulated to begin reproducing collagen and elastin.
What are the differences from other dermal fillers?
Not like other dermal fillers, Skin Boosters do not affect the face’s contour or muscle control. While Botox and fillers concentrate on lifting and shaping the skin, or freezing muscles to relax wrinkles, Skin Boosters work on the biochemical level of the skin to improve overall skin quality, offering longer lasting effects.
The substance of Skin Booster is much softer than other dermal fillers which guarantee the final result to be smooth, subtle and more natural looking.
